Just my 2 cents.” It is used to preface a tentative statement of one’s opinion. By deprecating the opinion to follow—suggesting its value is only two cents, a very small amount—the user of the phrase, showing politeness and humility, hopes to lessen the impact of a possibly contentious statement

Change shortage is a myth. So many people offering 2 cents proves there is plenty of change.  Sometimes your two cents cost more than 2 cents.

So many are sharing these days that 2 cents cost much more than 2 little copper pennies. The things being shared are doing irreparable damage to testimonies; not to mention the damage being done to the lives those 2 cents are being spoken into. Sometimes it is the better part of valor to keep your 2 cents, for a rainy day if you must have a reason, rather than publish those 2 cents for the world.

Mark 12:41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. [42] And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. [43] And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: [44] For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

She did not make a big deal about her 2 cents—she simply cast it into the treasury. The BIG deal was that God our Savior noticed. That is what made it important. Too often our 2 cents is only noticed because of the attitude with which it is given in the world. This woman was noticed of God because of her attitude—it was that her heart was right with God.

The world is definitely taking notice of your 2 cents; mostly because it stirs the pot of despair that is so viciously, violently, venomously,  and ferociously  being filled daily by the world. Of course that is “Just my 2 cents.”
